K&N airfilters, maintenance

how often do you maintain, clean (or perhaps replace) your K&N airfilter?

under average conditions, say 15k miles? is the "approved" K&N oil media the
only suitable one to use or are there alternatives?

changing 2003 DODGE GRAND CARAVAN TIRES

Hello,

I have like 25K miles .. and yday had a blow out…  on my left rear
tire.(  there was a 2 inch hole on the side if it. )

got a new one installed at  sams ..

i wanted to know if it is better in the long run to change the second
rear, also.. and /or change the front too.

the other tires are.. in good/avg shape… how do u measure /rate a
conditon of the tire.. I can still see quite some tread left

also.. one more thing.. the VAN recommneds 36psi for the tires.. which
have a MAX rating of 44PSI..

now this one tire I installed has a MAX RATING of only 35PSI… and the
guy at sams told me that I can fill it till 35PSI..

is that fine to keep one at its MAX 35 PSI and others at 36PSI..

Fuel Consumption RPM MPH

I think rating fuel consumtion for comperasion purposes can be
misleading.
Wont a 3.5 Liter car will consume less fuel in high speeds compares to
2.5?

Where can I find answers or charts that show fuel consumtion vs speed
for various engine sizes?

Also, what would be the RPM when an automatic gear 3.5 L car is at 75
MPH?
what would be the RPM when an automatic gear 2.5 L car is at 75 MPH?

chevy S 10 pickup v6 2.8l with emissions problem

I have a chevy s 10 pickup v6 2.8l that i have been having problems
with. the truck wont pass smog was way off charts so gave it a new oil
change and spark plugs. also adjusted the carburator. it now passes on
everything but Co2 at hi speed 2800 rpm. 2.69% 1.2% is what is needed
to pass. can anyone help me with this problem. just cant seem to get it
down another 1.4% :( thanks in advance

1994 Protege Rough Idle

I have a 1994 Protege DX (SOHC)5 Speed that idles very rough at a stop
as well as bucking as gears are changed. This happens most noticeably
when AC is on. Turn AC off at a light, and rough idle stops
immediately. The car when first started in the morning and AC on, will
not buck or rough idle until engine warms up. I can also duplicate the
rough idle with AC off and steering wheel turned all the way R or L. So
it appears heavy loads are doing something. The voltage at the battery
remains steady under load. There are no codes showing.
Here is what I have done so far:
New plugs
Wires are fairly new and look good
New distributor cap and rotor.
Cleaned throttle body
New air filter
New fuel filter
Checked for restrictions and or cracks in air hose.
Checked vacuum lines for cracks ect.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

accord start up problem

Hi. I have a 1990 honda accord and recently when I try to start the car
it just whines but doesnt start. If i let it sit for about 15-20
minutes then try again it starts up fine. This has happened about 3
times this month and im not quite sure what is wrong. 90% of the time
it starts up fine. Im thinking I need a new starter? Is there anything
specific I should check? If i need to replace the starter does anyone
know how much it usually costs? Thanks in advance.

Tech: 1990 Grand Caravan 3.3L won't start.. Has spark & getting fuel

It’ll crank & crank and won’t start.. It has a code 22 (coolant temp
sensor). Sensor & plug have been replaced. Still nothing. If you
disconnect the collant temp sensor plug it’ll start for 3-5 seconds and
run at about 2400 rpm, then die out.  Computer has also been replaced.

Any ideas???

97 venture – no first gear after warms up

My ’97 venture van losses first gear after driving for a while (20 +/- miles).
Once the it has a chance to cool down first gear comes back (every morning).
What’s up?

98 Ford Escort-No voltage to A/C compressor

I have a 98 escort with no A/C. No voltage to compressor. I replaced
the high side A/C switch on the receiver/dryer, and checked the Low
side switch near the radiator. No go. The compressor still gets no
voltage. Is there some sort of A/C relay WAC switch that controls
voltage to the compressor? I have looked for the relay under dash and
under hood and can’t find it. Anything you may know will be
appreciated! Thank you!
